Adviser Luncheons

Tickets for the luncheons are $35 and should be paid with your online registration. The deadline to register for adviser luncheons is Oct. 16. Tickets will be in the adviser registration packets and are required for admission.

Friday’s Luncheon  •  Noon–1:30 p.m.
Meet at the National Press Club, “The Place Where News Happens,” for more than 100 years. Lunch will be served in the ballroom where world leaders address media, guests and a global audience in print, on air and online. Larry Kaplow, NPR Middle East editor, will be the luncheon speaker. He was a freelance journalist in Mexico City and a Baghdad bureau chief for Newsweek.

TRANSPORTATION: Two buses will be available at the 24th Street entrance at 11 a.m. with a maximum of 102 passengers. Other options include taxi (estimated fare of $12-$20 each way) and public transportation (wmata.com).

Plan 30 minutes for travel between the hotel and the National Press Club each way.

Saturday’s Luncheon  •  Noon–2:20 p.m.
JEA, NSPA and Dow Jones News Fund will present their annual awards. New and renewing Certified Journalism Educators and Master Journalism Educators also will be recognized. Speakers will be the JEA Carl Towley Award winner and the Dow Jones National Journalism Teacher of the Year. Luncheon sponsor: Herff Jones.
